GREAT PLACES TO EAT

Not sure where to start as this part of Cornwall is blessed with any number of great eateries. Rick Stein is so much part of Padstow that some call it Padstein instead. Paul Ainsworth has a restaurant there too.
Jamie Oliver's Fifteen is just 30 minutes down the road at Watergate Bay and he and his family are often spotted around Rock. And Gordon Ramsay has a place on the Rock road too - you may bump into him in the bakery. Nathan Outlaw has the Mariner's Public House in Rock, as well as a 2 Michelin star restaurant and a fish kitchen in nearby Port Isaac. It's no wonder the cafes, pubs and restaurants are all of such high quality - there's a lot of top competition.
With all of the amazing eateries to choose from there's still a lot to be said for buying a great fish and chip supper or an award-winning pasty and tucking in on the beach as the sun goes down - check out our blog on Delicious DIY Food.

In no particular order....
This is a great, welcoming and dog-friendly pub that serves hearty and delicious meals plus has a gin menu. What more could you want. Not that easy to find down the back roads from The Old Piggery - but only takes about 15 minutes. We love the mussels!
Another local pub, just 10 minutes away, this is also dog-friendly and serves a decent spread.
The food here is delicious and worthy of a special night out. Start with drinks at the bar or by the fire then choose from a great local menu. Grab a taxi for the mile or two home so you can make the most of their delicious cocktails- we do!
